Our Story

With a desire to bring the best of the best in Hispanic foods to the local community, Rancho San Miguel Markets founders searched far and wide to find just the right combination of products and provide freshness beyond compare.  If you enjoy the Hispanic culture, you’ll simply be treated to an experience like no other at Rancho San Miguel Markets.  You’ll know right away that this isn’t your ordinary supermarket. 

Our produce department works hard to provide you with a wide variety of the most vibrant fruits and vegetables so that you can feel good about feeding your family-all within your budget.  Customer satisfaction is a high priority, that’s why we continually restock to make sure that you are getting the freshest produce. 

Stop by our full-service meat department to find the freshest quality meat and seafood.  You can shop with confidence knowing that our meat is always USDA inspected and is cut daily. Whether you’re looking for ready-to-eat, ready-to-make, or make-it-from-scratch, our full-service meat department has it all. 

Our bakery provides shoppers with traditional Hispanic pastries including concha, empanadas, fino, polvoron and much more.  We also can provide you with the perfect birthday, Quinceañera or wedding cake. 

If you are looking for an authentic Hispanic quick grab and go meal, the Kitchen will meet all of your breakfast, lunch and dinner needs. We offer breakfast burritos, family meals, combination plates and more.  We can even cater your next office lunch. 

Need to pick up some freshly made salsa for your next family gathering or celebration?  Stop by the Salsa Bar where you can choose from guacamole, rostisado, molcajete, salsa de arbol, salsa verde, ranchera or house made salsa.  Whatever kind you need-we have it.   In the mood for a refreshing Agua frescas?  Yep-we’ve got those too.  We offer horchata, watermelon, cucumber and lime, strawberry, pineapple, melon, tamarindo and Jamaica. Is seafood more your thing? Then you have to try our ceviches crab, fish campechana or camarones borrachos. Our Salsa Bar is like a store within the store!

A Little History:

1995 - PAQ, Inc. acquires two (2) Food 4 Less stores in Stockton, (March Lane & Wilson Way) and one in Lodi, California

1998 - PAQ, Inc. opens Food 4 Less in Weston Ranch located in Stockton, California

1999 - PAQ, Inc. opens the Hammer Lane Food 4 Less location in North Stockton bringing the total Food 4 Less stores in Stockton to four  

2000 - Food 4 Less opens in Manteca, California  

2002 - The City of Los Banos welcomes Food 4 Less to their city  

2003 - PAQ, Inc. opens Food 4 Less in Salinas, California  

2004 - May 5 – PAQ, Inc. introduces and opens their newest concept, Rancho San Miguel Market, to the Stockton area.July 21 – Rancho San Miguel Market opened in Lodi, California  

2005 - Food 4 Less opens in Ceres, California  

2006 - PAQ, Inc. acquires the Souza Group Food 4 Less stores in Paso Robles, Atascadero and San Luis Obispo, becoming the leading grocery store in the Independent Warehouse Grocers Association of Northern California (IWGANC) with a total of 14 stores

2007 - May – PAQ, Inc. continues to grow and opened a Rancho San Miguel Market in Merced, California  

2008 - October 15 – Rancho San Miguel Market Madera, California opens its doors  

2012 - June 30 – Rancho San Miguel Market Greenfield, California opens its doors

2015 - March 4 – Rancho San Miguel Market Livingston, California opens its doors  

2017 - March 1 – Food 4 Less Arroyo Grande, California opens its doors bringing the total number of stores operated in California to 20  

2018 - April 18 – PAQ, Inc. expands footprint into Sacramento with opening of Mack Road Food 4 Less store  

2019 - November 29-PAQ, Inc. becomes a 100% Employee Owned Company  

2020 - September 16-PAC, Inc. opens a Food 4 Less store on Rio Linda, CA October 7-PAC, Inc. opens a Food 4 Less store in Rancho Cordova, CA  

2022 - March 2 – PAQ, Inc. opens a new Rancho San Miguel Market in Sacramento, CA  

2023 - PAQ, Inc. opens a new warehouse in Lathrop, CA

2023 - March – PAQ, Inc. Retail Support Centers (Lathrop & Stockton) move to Lodi, CA

2023 - October 18 - PAQ, Inc. opens a Food 4 Less in Fairfield, CA
